Well, I’ve written my book. I’m very excited about it’s upcoming launch in August. I love the title and I love the cover. I hope you like the book as much! But I guess I should tell you how it all began.
Four years ago, I took the step to start writing about something that had become very important to me. Before starting to write, I had already realised how the quality of our food impacts significantly on the strength of our body and our immune system. I had also realised how important our soil is to the quality of that food. In addition, I had started to understand how connected we are to the earth and to each other at an ethereal level (sensing, feeling, knowing, being), not just at a physical level.
The moment for writing came when I started to realise that all these things are indeed connected. I felt the very strong need to start to write about these threads and their connections. To write about how our own well-being is determined by what we put in our mouths, and what we put in our heads, as well as how we connect with people and places around us. That’s what this book is about.
Writing helps me to understand, and if it made sense when I wrote about it, then I wanted to share what I had learnt. So for the last four years I have been gathering, writing, reflecting, re-writing, gathering more and writing again. The end result is my very proud achievement “Eat … Think … Heal: One Family’s Story of the Healing Powers of Food and Thought”.
It’s my story about our family and what I have learnt. If it’s about me, then it’s also about you, because we are all humans after all.
My family has given me their blessing to write our story in order to share what I have learnt. To them I am eternally grateful.
I hope you enjoy my book.
With love and appreciation,
Margaret Bridgeford
